Crush it by Gary Vaynerchuk

gary_vaynerchukWell, I finally got around to purchasing Gary’s book. The first chapter gave me hope, I always assumed that since by hobbies were primarily niche in nature it would be impossible to become successful doing them. What I have discovered, with Gary’s help, is it does not matter what you love to do. The only element necessary for success is passion. You can learn skills, but you can never learn to be passionate. I have determined that no matter what I want to learn to be a better programmer because that is what I am passionate about. So I bought a few books and have registered and started working on jQuery Book to learn jQuery. If you want to see if I am progressing you should periodically check out the site and feel free to give me any criticisms or comments.

  1. I read this book in about 2 hours. Enjoyed it. Very practical. Keep in mind, just b/c you’re doing your passion doesn’t mean you’ll make money doing it. Gary just so happened to run a 40 mil a year wine warehouse too. Wine Library TV was an outlet for his passion…just so happened he’s good at video too. Overall though, his book lacked a lot of the fluff BS that so many “I did it – you can do it too” books that are out there. he presents it raw and real. success isn’t hard…it takes time and tons of effort.
