The first chapter gave me hope, I always assumed that since by hobbies were primarily niche in nature it would be impossible to become successful doing them. What I have discovered, with Gary’s help, is it does not matter what you love to do. The only element necessary for success is passion. You can learn skills, but you can never learn to be passionate. I have determined that no matter what I want to learn to be a better programmer because that is what I am passionate about. So I bought a few books and have registered and started working on jQuery Book to learn jQuery. If you want to see if I am progressing you should periodically check out the site and feel free to give me any criticisms or comments.

First, let me say I have entered contests like this before and have never won, so I was surprised. Second, I absolutely love this book. For some reason I cannot read a book that is not visually pleasing. There are many fine books that teach you programming, but if they look like a third grade student made the illustrations I cannot read it.  Speaking in Styles is both a great resource as well as something nice to look at.
